A Clean Slate For '05
I woke up this morning and just *knew* my decision on how I want to close out this year and begin the new one. I was up in the air on that earlier this week - undecided about if I really wanted to kick it into high gear and accomplish some business goals, or just enjoy the holidays and glide through these last few weeks...
It's a personal choice kinda thing - I dont want to push myself past my limits, or create any unnecessary stress. Especially not during the holidays. But at the same time, I was starting to get fidgety and really felt like I needed to get myself prepared to kick off 2005 on the right foot.
So here's what I decided: For the next 3 weeks I am going to focus on organizing, streamlining and rearranging - everything!
And I mean *everything* :) From my physical desktop to my three 'virtual desktops', cleaning out the refrigerator, rearranging my office, getting the accounting in order for the year, having the carpet cleaned, updating my address book - you name it. The challenge is ON!
Of course, I will still work towards my business goals and maintain my 'usual' routine, but in all of my spare time I will work towards getting completely organized... and be ready to kick off 2005 with a clean slate!
It's really amazing what can pile up on you in a years time. Accounting (ack!). And you should see my address book - I've stuck so many business cards and pieces of paper in it, that I had to give up and chuck it all in a file in my drawer to keep it together! My desktop(s) - um, it's really, really bad (LOL). I call it my "organized mess".
As for my computer, you can't even SEE the desktop anymore for all of the icons! And the rest of the house... well, every room seems to have its 'corner' - and I'm just in the mood to turn this place upside down :)
This is going to feel GOOD - and make my life so much easier once it's accomplished. And there's nothing I like better than a well-deserved sense of accomplishment!
I'm not going to waste any time prioritizing, or planning - I'm just going to dig in, and make a concentrated effort towards my goal every single day for the next 3 weeks...
